Richard Mille has announced a new version of the RM 21-02 Tourbillon Aerodyne for 2023. The black and white timepiece features a case made from white Quartz TPT, Carbon TPT, and titanium. The watch’s core concept and movement were unveiled in 2009 with 18k gold cases. However, the 2023 version has a modern look and uses high-tech materials.
Richard Mille is launching a new RM 21-02 Tourbillon Aerodyne version in 2023. The watch features a tonneau-shaped case that measures 42.68mm in diameter by 14.3mm thick with a lug-to-lug profile of 50.12mm. The center caseband is made from grade 5 titanium, while the pillars are crafted from black Carbon TPT.
The watch presents a striking contrast of white and black, with a white Quartz TPT case back and a transparent sapphire display window. The multi-component bezel features a black Carbon TPT centre section flanked by white Quartz TPT segments. It boasts an anti-glare sapphire crystal, water resistance up to 50 meters, and a ventilated strap in white rubber with black contrasting inlays, reflecting meticulous attention to design detail.
The 2023 RM 21-02 Tourbillon Aerodyne is equipped with a winding crown positioned at 3 o’clock. The crown features a titanium button that acts as a function selector switch, a testament to Richard Mille’s innovative approach. A simple press of the button allows you to alternate between modes such as winding, setting, and neutral, mirroring the functionality of a car transmission.
The 2023 Richard Mille RM 21-02 Tourbillon Aerodyne features a clear sapphire dial with skeletonized hands, Arabic numeral hour markers, and a tourbillon at 6 o’clock. The function selector switch indicator has its hand next to the 4 o’clock hour marker.
At the top of the dial are two arc-shaped displays. The left shows a power reserve, and the right is a torque indicator. The torque display helps users adjust the mainspring tension for optimal timekeeping performance.
The 2023 Richard Mille RM 21-02 Tourbillon Aerodyne has a transparent dial that displays a HAYNES 214 mainplate. This alloy can tolerate temperatures over 955°C and has a geometric honeycomb pattern for stiffness. Its jet-black PVD finish matches the model’s colourway.
The new 2023 Richard Mille RM 21-02 Tourbillon Aerodyne features a Caliber RM21-02 manual-wind movement with a frequency of 21,600vph (3 Hz) and a power reserve of about 70 hours. The movement’s bridges are grade 5 titanium and include a function selector switch, tourbillon, and three additional indicators. The Cal. RM21-02 also has a modular time-setting assembly that can be removed through the case back for easy maintenance.
Richard Mille introduces the exclusive 2023 RM 21-02 Tourbillon Aerodyne watch, crafted from white Quartz TPT, Carbon TPT, and titanium. With a price tag of USD 928,000, it is one of the most premium models in the brand’s collection, limited to just 50 pieces globally. This luxury timepiece’s contemporary and sophisticated design encapsulates the essence of Richard Mille watches. Discover more on their website.
